IBM Mashup Center 2.0 has been well-worth the wait. Packed full of improvements and additional features, it now integrates closely with WebSpere Portal 6.1.5, enabling mashups to be published directly and easily to portal pages via the Mashup Accelerator for WebSphere Portal.
A slicker user interface, supported by automated wiring between widgets, makes building feeds and feed mashups a pleasure rather than a chore. More predefined pallets make it easier to customise the appearance of spaces; add drop-shadows and rounded corners, user interface animations, pop-ups and type-ahead. Visual selection of chart types brings IMC in to line with user expectations. Parameterized feeds in the basic widgets assist simplified mashup builds
For the more data focussed user, there are now standard connections for IBM FileNet, IBM WebSphereMQ, IBM Lotus Quickr, Microsoft Sharepoint and ICM. Desktop files are also handled better (e.g. CSV delimeters other than a comma, updates of spreadsheets on the server are reflected in the mashup). JSON objects can now be published to add a further consumption options to data.
