IBM Lotus has delivered the ID Vault with its latest release of Lotus Domino server. A capability that, once implemented, automates the task of storing and managing ID files and keeping them up to date. Yes, its optional, so if you have a perfectly robust process for managing ID files you can just go on doing it. But if you haven't or want the vendors current best solution based on their own Lotus Domino technology, this might be for you.

The DAOS [Domino Attachment and Object Service] service enables attachments over a pre-determined threshold size to be detached into a single repository on the local server and a link written in the source document.  When the document is opened the attachment can be retrieved via the link.
